About us
Our business started out in 1994, in Lancashire, as Electronic News Services, later shortened to ens: media for the web.
We picked the name because we had a Mac and a modem (and later an ISDN box) that photographers and other media pros used to send pictures and copy “down to London”. And our landlords needed a name for the office door.
The business is run by Stephen Pritchard, a journalist specialising in business and technology.
As a writer and broadcaster Stephen has contributed to the FT, the BBC, The Independent, The Times, The Guardian, and the Daily Telegraph. He has also written for Information Age, CNBC Magazine, Computer Weekly and a range of trade and professional titles; he is a contributing editor for IT Pro and Infosecurity Magazine.
Today ens: media operates with a number of well-respected freelance writers, photographers, sound engineers, producers, trainers and video makers, as well as a small number of production companies.
ens: media provides support for professional communications, but is not a PR agency. To this end, all work is undertaken in accordance with an ethics policy and the NUJ’s code of practice.
